emaline delapaix
biography

Emaline Delapaix is an Aussie singer songwriter who lives between rural Western Canada and the hidden forests of Germany with her big orange cat Reece. She spends a lot of time writing odd folk pop for piano, acoustic guitar and harp and sometimes whatever else she has lying about the place. Some say she sounds a little like Kate Bush or Tori Amos, but she also loves a lot of Scandinavian music: music that invokes the weather like storms and warm sunsets.

A live performance with Emaline and her lapsteel/electric guitarist Karsten Lipp incorporates strings, hammers and guitars with bold energy, ambient soundscapes, intricate rhythms and Emaline's unusual and stunning voice.

Instrumentation

Emaline Delapaix - vocals, acoustic guitar, piano/keys, baby celtic harp and melodica
Karsten Lipp - electric, acoustic and lapsteel guitar, laptop and loops
with cello and percussion for selected shows.

Other Information

Aside from music, Emaline is also a Vegan with a keen interest in helping abused and abandoned animals and bringing awareness to such issues as depression, factory farming, healthy living and LGBT. In 2011 she performed at Veganmania in Vienna and has been asked to return in 2012 as well as a first time performance at the Stuttgart Veggie Street Day.
